I’m shaken to the core
Hola Magical Goddess,
I'm cleansing some warrior wounds as I type these words.
With dance, with ritual, palo Santo and all the guidance (here and beyond) I can muster.
The wounds are still too raw to speak of, but now more than ever the mission is clear. I'll come back to this in a minute.
What do you do when a situation challenges your integrity and beliefs to your core?
What do you say when the pain of generational trauma is starring at you in technicolour and neon lights?
Who do you go to for comfort?
Over the past 3 days - all that I've been speaking of over the past 4 years and feeling since I was 12 years old landed in my body like a meteoroid striking Mama Earth.
The mission is clear.
I come from a lineage that has been fighting erasure and neutral-ising since the colonisation of what is now known as Latin America. The systems that we continue to work within (namely patriarchal colonial systems) have made this pretty standard practice. I invite you to challenge those systems with integrity in order to change them.
My great-great grandmother's name - Isadora - was never to be spoken of in her village because she practised 'curanderismo' (healing work) and could be prosecuted by the local church and its fervent believers. Even if her work transformed lives, she would never be acknowledged.
I'm here inviting you to come and challenge these systems with me.
If you've ever been erased - I see you.
If you've never been acknowledged - I see you.
If you've never felt you're enough…
Ouuuufffffff - that one disarms me to the core
If you've never felt like you're enough - you are.
YOU
ARE
ENOUGH
I can't fight this battle on my own.
I choose not to.
I'm in.
Are you?
In Joy + Power,
Caro
