What is ancestral joy?
It’s my own take on simply speaking of and remembering those that came before you. The good, the bad and the ugly. Ancestral joy, is about telling that story you heard from your mum about how your grandparents met. Or maybe it’s a not-so- random mannerism that you’ve inherited that reminds others of your gramma. Or maybe it’s that song you learnt from one of your elders that takes you back to your own childhood’s innocence and joy.
We welcome laughter, cringe, suspense, tears and most of all deep reverence for you and your story. YOU, as the golden link of past, present and future. All lineages welcome :)
You can do this even if you have very little information about who your ancestors are
You’re a curious, playful soul and understand that joy is a super healing emotion
You are excited about the idea of sharing a simple sentence, or an entire essay about where you come from. It can also feel a little bit scary, but we’ve got you.

You might be thinking “but wait, my ancestry is pretty boring!” - let me tell you that’s a lie. The lives and humanity of all of us is filled with stories of joy, pain, triumphs, losses and everything in between. And it has nothing to do with what part of the world you and your family is from. The human condition is universal
You’re interested in having an honest conversation about those in your lineage that have had in impact in the way you show up and you want to honour them. After all, you’re here, in no small part, because of them.

Here’s what you can expect:
-CIRCLE OF WOMEN. Let’s sit together in circle and share a story. No expectation, no need to prepare, only to be present and watch the magic unfold
-DANCE. A celebration in the joy witch’s world (i.e my world) would not be complete without a good boogie. Dance if you want, or simply take in the energy from a comfy sofa. It’s 100% allowed.
-NOURISHING FOOD & CONVERSATIONS - Food brings people together and it’s an opportunity to get to know women with powerful visions who are in the arena with you.
-PLAY. We will play a couple of very simple games that require nothing but you and your willingness to participate. And if you don’t feel like it that ok too. You decide.
-SURPRISES. All I’m saying is, I’m bring my drum! Can you guess why?
